A 20 year old home wanted to change out the overgrown boxwoods and update their walk up with seasonal color. A warm color pallet was suggested to match the siding and color of the bricks.
Initial Proposal
On each end of the house I have it anchored with Double Knockout Roses.
- Then on the left side of the house going in:
- Green Background Shrub could either be : Shades of Pink Viburnum or Spring Bouquet Viburnum
- If there is room in front of the stone section, then we will layer with: Dwarf Purple Daydream Loropetalum
- If not, we will layer with perennial flowers
- There should be enough room in front of the siding section, so we will put Red Drift Roses because they are the same color as the Knockout Rose. If you prefer the pink Knockout Rose then we will do the pink drift roses.
- In the center of the semi-circle outside the front door would have:
- Golden Dream Boxwoods (stay super small) wrapping the corner
- Weeping Japanese Maple in the center Tamukeyama
- We would repurpose some of your existing variegated lirope
- Add in some Veronica (blue or purple) for a pop of color
- The right side of the house would have Double Play Doozie Spirea
- For height at the edge of the house into the curve we could add a Nellie Stevens Holly
Starting from the Rose bushes:
- Recurve Ligustrum
- Endless Summer Hydrangea — you can pick which one
- Radiance Abelia
- Cinnamon Girl Distylium
Additional Plant Options:
- Bloomerang Lilac
- MyMonet Purple Effect Weigela
- Pugster Butterfly Bush —Blue, Amethyst, Pinker
- Encore Azaleas
- Salvia – Spring King
- Stella de Oro Daylily —Would have to be in the backyard because deer love them.
