I went ahead and created two layouts just to give a couple visuals of potential style. Both images are of the plants at full growth. Underneath each image is the plants I had in mind with some having a substitution(s). Click on each plant to be sent to a page that has a good image of the plant in both bloom and with no bloom. If there is a plant that you don’t like, and it doesn’t have a substitution listed, we are still able to swap it for a good alternative.

Purple Splashes– added 1/21/2023

  • First, I do want to mention that the variegated liriope suggested above, does put out light purple flowers during the summer.
  • Delilah Purple Dianthus — low to the ground, but a semi-evergreen variety
  • Millenium Ornamental Onion — most clients find that these turn out to be a favorite and ask for more
  • May Night Salvia — there are lots of varieties, but this is one of the most popular and hardy for our area
  • Walker’s Low Catmint — there is a also larger/mid-size variety if you like these
  • Variegated Purple Effect Weigela — I have this in my yard and love it. It is deciduous.
  • Drift Popcorn Rose — not purple, but small easy white rose
  • Ivory Dogwood — also not purple, white variegated. While decidous, it’s red winter stems are beautiful.
