From Sea to Mountains…. House Undecided

Optional Looks

Driveway:

This is a mixture of what’s already there, and just adding a little height and fluff.

I added Mint Julep Juniper, transplanted the yew against your house, then added Blue Marvel Salvia. the red is the existing amaryllis.

Deck:

Option 1:

The tall plants are Fastigiata Yew

Yellow: Candy Corn Spirea

Evergreen: Coppertone Distylium or Otto Luyken Laurel

Screening:

Option 1:

You already have the cypress on the left. I would find a matching one to put on the right.

Inner Tall: Spartan Juniper / Emerald Green Arborvitae or even the hollies if you like that look

Front Greenish/yellow: dwarf sweet tea olive… I have to go by a nursery to get the actual variety name

Bright Yellow: Candy Corn Spirea or Magic Carpet Spirea

Option 2:

Difference from above:

Medium Sized Butterfly Bush: Miss Violet Butterfly Bush, if those are too big, look at the Pugster Series

I would transplant that Grass when you come in the back gate here.

Plant List / Alternate Options

Evergreen Uprights — Slim

Evergreen Upright — Moderate Width

Evergreen Shrubs

Semi-Deciduous

  • Pugster Butterfly Bush (dwarf) — has four different colors (I’m partial to the blue, but I enjoy all the colors)
  • Candy Corn Spirea — there are also larger (mid-size varieties if you want something similar but larger)

Decidious

Perennials

  • Coreopsis — there are so many different looks/styles: Early Sunrise, Globe, and Zagreb are my top three. You would never know they are the same plant.
  • Blue Marvel Salvia — usually blooms from end of spring thru fall. There are other varieties that are different size, color, and bloom spans. I just use this one a lot because it has won numerous awards throughout the years.
  • Dianthus — there are endless colors, foliage textures, bloomstyles, etc. I am slightly fond of Fruit Punch Series (my favorite in the series is Cranberry Cocktail,) Firewitch Cheddars, and Everlast Orchid.

Other mentionables:

  • Oleanders — These should easily work in your yard, the only reason I didn’t put them farther up is because they are toxic to dogs. If it was put in your front/side yard, I do not think you would have to worry.
  • Bloomerang Lilacs — Deciduous Reblooming Lilac that only gets around 5 foot by 5 foot after many years.
